I’m so excited to share my upcoming Season 2 with you. Season 1 was all about my breast cancer journey, but now I’m branching out. I started recording last weekend with some very special guests from Vera Bradley. Lynda Houk is the Executive Director for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. To date, the Foundation has raised over $32 million for Breast Cancer research. I have visited the research lab, attended town halls with researchers and volunteered my time and love for the Foundation.
I am sooooo excited to kick off Season 2 with a cause so dear to my heart. Just days before the recording start, a friend to my mom and I, Jan Kraus, passed away from a recurrence of Breast cancer. She was diagnosed just months after me and followed my blog and we exchanged many emails and hugs. It breaks my heart to say goodbye, and research funding is needed to continue to create change and make improvements to treatments and seek other new treatments.
I also had my very first breast cancer survivor (other than myself), Salena Bryan. She is a co-worker at Vera Bradley, we are in the same support group. She is a mother of 4 children and fought breast cancer while learning she was pregnant. Salena is truly an inspiration, her faith is so strong and definitely was a driving force for why I needed to share other breast cancer journeys on DJ Breast Cancer. I hope to shine a light on other experiences and give hope and Tina Tips along the way!
If you listened to Season 1, I’m excited to share that I have help this year. Nicolas Ley is producing my podcast. The sound quality is so improved and he is a podcast wizard. This leaves me more time for social media, connecting with survivors, and preparing for my guests.
Inspiration meets expectation, reality meets hopes and dreams... buckle up, Season 2 starts on Thursday 5/9/19 on iTunes, Spotify or click on my podcast link. Let’s be the change we want to see in this world!
