DJ BREAST CANCER

A Podcast on Tina's Breast Cancer Journey, a "Girlfriend's Guide" to Breast Cancer.

Tina's story must be told.  She has lived the breast cancer journey both as the survivor and the daughter of one.  Tina knows both sides of the story.  She has been the ears that have heard, the eyes that have watched, and the hand holder.  She too has been the body that has been sick, weak, and worn.  Her soul has come forward with unyielding optimism about her own future and that of her fellow survivors.  Through her experiences, those affected by breast cancer will find inspiration that they too can hope for a promising future that will wipe away the pain of the past, replacing it with joy and gratitude.  Sit back and listen in to her inspirational Podcast debut, DJ Breast Cancer.

The Patient Story, Giving Back to the Cancer Community

This week’s guest on DJ Breast Cancer is an amazing survivor, Stephanie Chuang. She is a survivor of Stage 3A Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and founder of an amazing cancer resource called The Patient Story! Stephanie was diagnosed in 2016 and had great support and doctors in her life but realized that not all patients and caregivers know what to do with their diagnosis. Stephanie used this as a motivating force to create assistance and support to those impacted by cancer.

Stephanie’s treatment included 700 hours of chemotherapy, a regimen known as R-Epoch. There were days that Stephanie and her now husband were faced with big decisions And big fears. Stephanie recalls to me her husband wanting her to “celebrate each win” while Stephanie was more cautious and didn’t want to tempt fate. There was a turning point in which Stephanie did begin to embrace the present, and truly started living in a perspective of gratitude. Stephanie wants to continue to love in this manner, being truly present and grateful.

I encourage you to check out the website (below) and you will be blown away. One person can make a difference. One person can acknowledge that receiving the diagnosis of cancer is truly life changing. Sometimes when you are stressed and in the midst of a storm, it can be paralyzing, this website is intended to give you direction and feel the love and support of others. The mission of The Patient Story is to humanize every cancer diagnosis to help improve the quality of life and health outcomes.

Stephanie is expecting her first child any day and I cannot wait to see the social media announcement of a beautiful baby girl to make her entrance to a better world, a world made better by her mother and father!
