DJ BREAST CANCER

A Podcast on Tina's Breast Cancer Journey, a "Girlfriend's Guide" to Breast Cancer.

Tina's story must be told.  She has lived the breast cancer journey both as the survivor and the daughter of one.  Tina knows both sides of the story.  She has been the ears that have heard, the eyes that have watched, and the hand holder.  She too has been the body that has been sick, weak, and worn.  Her soul has come forward with unyielding optimism about her own future and that of her fellow survivors.  Through her experiences, those affected by breast cancer will find inspiration that they too can hope for a promising future that will wipe away the pain of the past, replacing it with joy and gratitude.  Sit back and listen in to her inspirational Podcast debut, DJ Breast Cancer.

Sonja’s Saviors “A Small Kind Gesture Goes a Long Way!”

This week’s guest is a kind and caring person Sonja Lang. Barely out of treatment herself, she is laser focused on helping others and turning her diagnosis to a purpose and passion of helping others. Sonja started “Sonja’s Saviors” to give back to the cancer communit. Sonja was so grateful for all the amazing care packages she received during her treatment. Now, she shops for, organizes and delivers/ships care packages to others. Sonja is always looking for sponsors to help in her mission. This week it was a beautiful thing to see one guest from my Podcast, Eboney Thompson, receive a Sonja Saviors package, from another guest, Sonja. It truly felt like a community, a DJ Breast Cancer tribe!!!!

Sonja describes her diagnosis and the impact on her family. Together, we discuss the importance of asking for help and being vulnerable. Sonja describes her daughter Penni and how she fought each and every day for her daughter. Sonja describes life after cancer and the challenges of “reentry” to “normal life”. She discusses relearning how to live, trying to adjust to a different routine.

Like Sonja, we both found refuge in writing. Both of us started a CaringBridge site to keep friends and family in the know. Sonja describes writing like nobody listening and keeping it very honest and real. Sonja turned to poems and loves the release that writing provides.

Despite many many hardships, Sonja remains optimistic and positive. She describes the importance of not giving up, know that it will get better. Through gratitude and purpose, Sonja remains steadfast in her mission to help others through. Please take a break and listen to her amazing story on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and my website. If you are looking for a way to make a difference in a survivor’s journey, please consider sponsoring some care packages!
